Donna Cecile Simpson Simonton, age 74, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

The family will host a visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A graveside funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Ranch Cemetery pavilion. Interment will follow in the Brown Ranch Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Donna Cecile Simonton was a strong woman, a devoted wife, and a good and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother. She grew up in Llano, Texas riding in rodeos for the love of being on a horse beside her father. She found the love of a good man, settled into the many faceted life of a rancher’s wife and made south Coleman County her home, devoting her life to raising her children. She worked her way up to Quality Assurance inspector for a leather manufacturing service for the United States Army. Following her retirement, she was determined to make her home just a little better in a million small ways, and she succeeded.

Supporting her community through Meals-on-Wheels, US Postal delivery, and as a proud member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Coleman, holding the office of treasurer for many years. With neighbors and her husband Nicky, she also loved and maintained the Brown Ranch Cemetery where so many of her family, friends and neighbors, as well as herself, have and will find their final resting place. Donna was the center of her family and will be sorely missed.

Preceding Donna in death are her parents, Cecil Simpson and Fern Barclay Simpson, and her son, Lester William Galbreath.

She is survived by her husband, Nicky Simonton; her children, Carrie Stewardson and husband Tyler, Corlena Simonton, and Stacey Galbreath; her grandchildren, Brook Galbreath, Kaitlyn Simonton, Austin Simonton, Kylie Salazar, Bella Salazar, Simon Guijosa, Tyler Guijosa, Rylee Simonton- Schramm, Samantha Stewardson, Wesley Stewardson, and Tripp Stewardson; her great-grandchild, Aveigh Galbreath; and one brother, Ronnie Simpson.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Donna be made to the Brown Ranch Cemetery Association in care of Charlotte Wilson, 761 CR 356, Coleman, Texas 76834.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Simonton family by signing the guestbook on Donna’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Simonton family.
