Enjoy a hot chili supper, and start your holiday gift shopping Friday Dec. 8 at the Brownwood Art Center, 215 Fisk Ave.  The meal will be served from 4 to 7 pm, and includes chili, beans, cornbread, and two cookies for $10.  Eat in the Art Center gallery, or take it to go.

The fundraising event also includes a miniature and small art sale, and a silent auction.  Art sale items will be affordably priced.  The art works are donated by local artists to support the Art Center.  Cary Perrin, one of the organizers of the event, says  “This fundraiser has been popular with the community for years, and we look forward to seeing old members and new faces too!”

The silent auction includes specially selected paintings.  Bidding opens Thursday Dec. 7 at 12 noon until 6pm, and continues Friday Dec. 8 from 1 pm till 6:30 pm,  Early bidders may also preview the Art Sale.

The Brownwood Art Association is always welcoming new members and volunteers.  Gallery exhibits change monthly, and groups that meet regularly include photographers, fiber and textile artists, painters, creative writers and a community drum circle.   The Art Center is also available to rent for private events.  For more information, visit www.brownwoodart.net, find us on Facebook, or call 325-641-2916.
