Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Nov. 20

  • On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Deputy Ira Smith was dispatched to block of Goldie Lane for a burglary of a motor vehicle call. Deputy Smith arrived, and the victim advised her purse was left in her vehicle, and someone got into the vehicle and took two hundred dollars from the purse.
  • On Thursday, November 16, 2023, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Deputy Francisco Valencia initiated a traffic stop in the 4100 block of US Hwy 183 South, for speeding. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and illegal drugs were located. The driver and passenger were placed into custody for Possession of Controlled Substance. A report was made.
  • On Thursday November 16, 2023 at 9:15 a.m., Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to CR 367 regarding duty on striking structure, fixture or highway landscaping. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who stated his mailbox was struck by a vehicle, causing damage. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Friday, November 17, 2023, approximately 10:52 a.m. Deputy Alexandria Sanchez spoke with a victim in relation to a theft.
  • On Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:41 a.m., Deputy Michel Wilson received a call from dispatch about a fraud. A complainant said a suspect forged a check out of the account of a victim. Information was gathered for further investigation of the Abuse of the Elderly.
  • On Friday, November 17, 2023, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center in regard to a theft. Deputy Geis spoke with a complainant who claimed that a suspect had stolen four cell phones. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Friday, November 17, 2023, at 2:32 p.m., Deputy Michel Wilson took a complaint via phone call in reference to citizens dispute that turned into a terrorist threat family violence call. A complainant said they were threatened by his cousin. Information was obtained and a report has been made.
  • On Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:58 a.m., Deputy Michel Wilson conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of N279 and FM 3021 on a 2019 Ford Fusion for expired registration. Driver Bryan Jones, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance PG3, and Expired Driver’s License.
  • On Saturday, November 18, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., Deputy Thomas Beloat with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Bull Pen Dr. regarding criminal mischief. Pertinent information was gathered, and a report was completed.
  • On Sunday, November 19, 2023 Deputy John Geis was dispatched to CR 159, Bangs TX, 76823 in regard to theft of property. Deputy Geis spoke with two victimes, who said that two suspects stole several items from them. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Monday, November 19, 2023 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Sgt. Andre Smoot with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to County Road 334 to found property, which was a bag of jewelry. Smoot arrived on scene, collected the bag of jewelry, and was turned into evidence locker for safe keeping, until an owner, is located. An information report was completed.
