Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Nov. 6

  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 2:57 p.m., Deputy Michel Wilson took a complaint by phone from the Brown County Road Crew boss about road signs being stolen on County Road 411. Information was gathered for further investigation.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Deputy Michel Wilson was dispatched to CR 499 to take a report of a stolen dog. A complainant said her blue Pit Bull was stolen from her property. Information was taken and a report has been generated for further investigation.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center in regard to someone who wanted to report a theft. Deputy Geis spoke to two people who said that someone stole their deceased mother’s jewelry. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Deputy Michel Wilson was dispatched to CR 429 for an animal complaint about a dog attacking chickens. Dispatch advised the reporting party; A complainant said his neighbor’s dogs got out and was killing his chickens. Information was obtained and a report was taken. The neighbor was issued 2 citations for Unvaccinated Dogs and issued Dog Prohibited from Running at Large.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center in regard to a Debit/Credit card theft. A complainant claimed that a suspect stole his debit card information, charging money from his account. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Sgt. Andre Smoot with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a Defective Headlight. While speaking with the driver stated that he had a prior arrest for marijuana, and that there was a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. Permission was given to search the driver’s area, and 0.04 oz of marijuana was discovered underneath the driver’s seat. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Deputy Michel Wilson conducted a follow-up investigation over a theft that occurred on Monday, Oct. 30, with an individual at her residence CR 334. The victim said her brother had stolen items from her residence. After further investigation the property was mutual property, and a Criminal Trespass Warning was issued to the brother.
  • On Wednesday, Nov. 1 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke an individual at his property in reference to the dogs on his property. The individual had previously been issued 3 citations for Unvaccinated Dogs. The individual advised the Justice of the Peace that heard his case, that the dogs in question did not belong to him. The JP requested that all the dogs on the individual’s property be described and documented. The individual was then told that he had to provide proof of the vaccinations to the court within 45 days.
  • On Wednesday, Nov. 1 at about 10:55 p.m., Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to a deceased person located at CR 284, Blanket. EMS personnel pronounced a deceased person at 11:13 p.m. Information was collected and a report made.
  • On Thursday, Nov. 2, at approximately 8:15 p.m, Deputy Francisco Valencia initiated a traffic stop at US 183 N/FM 2273 for defective equipment. The odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and paraphernalia and THC was located. The driver of the vehicle was placed into custody for Possession of Controlled Substance. A report was made.
