Troy D. Lenard

Troy D. Lenard, age 67, of Rising Star, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023. Troy’s family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, November 18, from 1 to 3 pm at the Rising Star Market Building, located at 209 South Main in Rising Star.

Troy was born to Dave and Mary Lenard on July 14, 1956, in Wink Texas. He graduated from high school in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1974 and attended college for 2 years. Troy married his sweetheart, Janet Curtis on October 17, 2008 in Carrizozo, New Mexico. He worked as a truck driver all of his life before his retirement.

Troy was adventurous and fun loving, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, casinos, hunting varmints, football, bull riding and roping. He also loved his family, his pets and finding the perfect nicknames for family members.

Troy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Janet Lenard; children, Terrie Walker and husband Jeff of Rising Star, Sheri Urlacher of Chicago, Tracy Lenard of New Mexico, Brian Urlacher and wife Jennifer of Arizona, Casey Urlacher and Jeanna of Chicago, Angela Wheeler and husband David of May, David Lenard and wife Sheri of Waxahachie; his parents, Dave and Mary Lenard; sisters, Mary Louise White of New Mexico and Cindy Holden of Rising Star; 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; his beloved cat, Mia and best companion, Sophia Dog, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Troy was preceded in death by his grandson, Jodie Hubbard; granddaughter, Perri Hubbard and his great-grandson, Raider Hubbard; his beloved dog, Sissy and his favorite goat, Little Red.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Rising Star Volunteer Fire Department at 127 N Main St., Rising Star, TX 76471
