The City of Bangs recently received recommendations for economic development from the Heartland Association of Realtors and Counselors of Real Estate organizations.

The local Heartland Association of Realtors, with a grant from the National Association of Realtors, secured the services of the Counselors of Real Estate to provide a comprehensive assessment of the city of Bangs’ real estate market, assets, and economic health.  Counselors of Real Estate is a professional association of highly experienced commercial real estate advisors.  The five-person team that came to Bangs included two persons from Texas:  Thomas Rhodes (Wimberly) and Lloyd Thomas (Temple); two from Colorado:  Marilee Utter and Anne Ricker; and one from Illinois:  Samantha DeKoven.

The Counselors of Real Estate team spent several days in Bangs last week meeting with city leaders, business owners, and residents.  They toured the city to analyze and assess its real estate market, infrastructure, and overall economic health.  With that information, the Counselors produced recommendations to help the city of Bangs achieve its economic goals, including:

  • Continuing upgrades of current physical infrastructure
  • Promoting existing and new businesses through the city or other local organizations such as the Bangs Business Association
  • Supporting new housing by investing in development incentive programs
  • Promoting the city’s unique assets to potential residents and visitors

Heidi Andrade, President of Heartland Realtors, commented “We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with the City of Bangs and Counselors of Real Estate on this improvement project.  Bangs is a wonderful community, and we are confident that the recommendations developed by the Counselors of Real Estate will be a valuable tool for the city’s leaders as they work to continue that growth.”
