Mrs. Velma Perry, 87, of Bangs, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the home of her son in Brownwood, Tx

Funeral services for Velma Perry will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Blaylock Funeral Home chapel of Brownwood, with Bro. Joe Taylor and Bro. Pepper Dill officiating. Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Velma was born on August 8, 1936, in Florance, Alabama to Mossie and John Brown. She was the fourth of five children. She graduated from Anniston High School in 1954. She married Paul Conrad Perry of Ohatchee, Alabama on December 23, 1956. They were blessed with four children.

Velma discovered her gift for music while young. She was a talented flautist, pianist, and organist. She was a loving caregiver to other children as well as her own, to elderly residents in nursing homes, as well as MHMR residents.

She is survived by four children, Melanie (and Jimmy) Hallford of Bangs, Kim Reagor of Temple, Jan (and Robert) Turner of Early, and Paul Jr. (and Linda Brown) Perry of Brownwood; two grandchildren, Mike (and Robin) Perry and Jacob Hallford, and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Harper Perry.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, two children (Cynthia Karen and John Phillip), her parents and siblings, and her son-in-law Kirk Reagor.

We wish to especially thank the CPS Kinder Hearts hospice team for their loving and tender support provided to Velma.

Condolences for the family can be made online at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com
