Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 17

  • On Friday, October 13, 2023, at 11:13 a.m., Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to Oak Hill Circle, regarding a theft. Dispatch advised a victim had some property stolen from her residence. Upon arrival contact was made the victim. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Friday, October 13, 2023, Sgt. Chris Angel responded to North State Highway 279 in reference to a theft. Sgt. Angel met with a victim at this location. The victim stated sometime between noon Monday, October 9, 2023 and 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, an unknown subject stole his Matco Max Lite Diagnostic Tool, valued at $800. A report was taken and an investigation for the theft is underway.
  • On Sunday, October 15, 2023, at about 3:29 p.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Mukewater Cemetery located in the of CR 175 in Bangs, in regard to criminal mischief. Deputy Langley spoke to a victim who stated she believes a suspect vandalized her son’s grave.
  • On Sunday, October 15, 2023 at about 6:48 pm., Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to an assault that was no longer in progress located at CR 464, Brownwood. A complainant stated his neighbor assaulted him causing him pain. The two parties were separated when Deputy Williamson arrived. Information was collected and a report made.
  • On Monday, October 16, 2023, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to CR 200 Brownwood in regard to a Dangerous Dog. A complainant claimed that his neighbor’s dog was barking and acting aggressively while on his property. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Monday, October 16, 2023, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to handle a walk-in reference scam. Deputy Geis spoke to a complainant who claimed that someone hacked her Facebook and stole her Debit Card information and Driver’s License information. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Monday, October 16, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Deputy Thomas Beloat with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Emerald Dr. in reference to burglary. Pertinent information was gathered, and a report was completed.
