Michael Wayne Kruse, 60, of Coleman, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene.  The family will host a funeral service 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street in Coleman with Mr. Steve Anderson officiating.  Interment will be in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Michael Wayne Kruse was born August 21, 1963 in Midland to Patty Laffoon Kruse Briggs and the late Stanley Wayne Kruse.  Michael grew up in Midland where he attended school.  On August 5, 1994, Michael married Susan Padgett.  Michael worked for Leam Drilling Services in Midland as a Directional Driller.  After retiring, Michael and his wife, Susan, moved to Coleman in December, 2021.

No matter what job needed to be done, Michael did it.  He was a hard worker and put 110% into everything he did.  When not working, Michael not only enjoyed playing pool and corn hole, but enjoyed the company of his family, friends and neighbors.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan Kruse of Coleman; his mother, Patty Briggs of Snyder; one sister, Michelle Chaney and husband, Guy, of Lubbock; one brother, Tracy Kruse of Colorado City; his mother-in-law, Olivia Padgett of Midland; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna and Greg Mosing and Terry and Gina Padget, all of Lafayette, Louisiana.  Also surviving are three nephews, Landon Chaney of Lubbock, Braden Padgett of Midland, Kelan Padgett and wife, Allie of Dallas; a great nephew, Ellis Padgett of Dallas and Michael’s faithful companion, Bailee.

Preceding Michael in death are his father, Stanley Wayne Kruse and his father-in-law, Jim Padgett.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Kruse family by signing the virtual guestbook on Michael’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kruse family.
