The Brownwood Lions climbed another spot in the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Class 4A Division I Top 10 on Monday, coming in at No. 8 heading into their Week 9 showdown with Lubbock Estacado.

The Lions (7-1, 2-0) are one position shy of their peak in the poll, which came at No. 7 during the month of September.

The rest of the Top 10 features new No. 1 Boerne (6-1) followed by No. 2 Celina (7-0), No. 3 Anna (6-1), No. 4 China Spring (6-2), No. 5 Kilgore (7-1), No. 6 Iowa Colony (7-0), No. 7 Stephenville (5-2), No. 9 Needville (8-0) and No. 10 Tyler Chapel Hill (6-1) – which was ranked No. 1 last week.

Brownwood will visit Lubbock Estacado (6-1, 1-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lowrey Field in a game that will likely determine the outright District 2-4A Division I champion.

The latest Padilla Poll sees things a little differently, as Brownwood is ranked No. 17 in the state in Class 4A Division I while Lubbock Estacado comes in at No. 14.

Harris Ratings Weekly reveals it rankings on Tuesday.
