Edwina Wilson, age 88, of Coleman, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

She was born Edwina Clara Pope on November 1, 1934, in Port Lavaca, Texas to Charles Edwin Pope and Opeline Mae Giger Pope. Edwina worked in the restaurant business for many years and recently relocated to Coleman to be with family. She enjoyed making new friends and loved having a conversation with anyone. Edwina loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Preceding Edwina in death are her parents, Charles and Opeline Pope, and her husband Joe Wilson.

She is survived by one daughter, Jonell Aughn of Idaho; one sister, Mary Burkett and husband Joe of Coleman; one brother, Burnie Pope and wife Marilynn of North Carolina; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews including Joe and Colette Tabor of Coleman.

A graveside inurnment will be scheduled at a later time. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Memorials are suggested with gratitude that memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Wilson family by signing the virtual guestbook on Edwina’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilson family.
