In a meeting of Brown County Commissioners Court on Tuesday, October 10, Zephyr ISD, Blanket ISD and Brookshire’s Grocery Store in Brownwood were honored for their roles in a recent active shooter response training.
Zephyr and Blanket schools were the host schools. Brookshire’s provided refreshments for those in attendance.
The training is specifically designed for active shooting situations in schools and conducted by the ALERRT organization.
First responders from Brown County S.O., Brownwood Police Department, DPS and other agencies were represented. A total of 19 signed up for the training in Zephyr and 21 for the training in Blanket.
