Lady Horns complete district sweep of Dublin with four-set home win

Matty Boswell (1) finished with eight kills and eight digs for Early (12-12, 5-5), which heads to district front-runner and ninth-ranked Peaster at noon Saturday.

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns, who again entered Tuesday night action in a three-way tie for fourth place in a battle for the final playoff berth from District 8-3A, completed a league sweep with a 25-12, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19 victory over last-place Dublin.

The Lady Horns (12-12, 5-5) – who entered the night deadlocked with Breckenridge (10-13, 4-5) and Eastland (7-20, 4-5) – were sparked by 11 kills from Jensyn Rasor, 10 from Hadalee Saunders, eight from Matty Boswell, six from Grey Pruett, and two each from Dakota Barksdale and Jenna Hataway.

Pruett led the way with 26 assists followed by Hataway and Rasor with two apiece and Barksdale with one.

Boswell and Rasor served the aces for Early.

On defense, Hataway notched nine digs followed by Boswell with eight, Saunders and Gabby Benson with three each, and Rasor, Gabby Leal and Piper Pedersen with one apiece.

Barksdale and Rasor tallied one block each at the net against Dublin (0-19, 0-10).

Early is back in action at noon Saturday at district front-runner and ninth-ranked Peaster, which was 28-7 overall and 9-0 in district heading into Tuesday action.
