Lady Horns start second half of district with straight-set win at Comanche

Hadalee Saunders (2) recorded 13 kills for Early (11-11, 4-4), which is back in action at noon Saturday at Breckenridge.

COMANCHE – The Early Lady Horns completed a District 8-3A volleyball sweep of Comanche and evened their league mark Tuesday night with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-16 road victory.

Early (11-11, 4-4) entered the second half of district action Tuesday a three-way tie for fourth place in the league standings, as the Lady Horns are attempting to secure a spot in the top four to advance to the playoffs.

Standouts for the Lady Horns included Matty Boswell with 5 kills, 7 digs, and 1 ace; Hadalee Saunders with 13 kills and 1 dig; Grey Pruitt with 1 kill and 27 assists; Dakota Barksdale with 2 kills and 1 block; Jenna Hataway with 5 digs and 1 ace; Jensyn Rasor with 5 kills, 1 assist and 1 block; Gabby Benson with 1 dig; Piper Pedersen with 1 kill; and Gabby Leal with 2 kills.

Early is back in action at noon Saturday at Breckenridge, one of the teams the Lady Horns shared fourth place with, along with Eastland, entering Tuesday action. Early dropped the first meeting to Breckenridge on Sept. 12.
