Brownwood (5-1) begins defense of its District 2-4A Division I championship at 7 p.m. Friday at Big Spring (1-5).

Despite a 27-17 loss to Stephenville Friday night in the 83rd Battle of 377, the Brownwood Lions remained in this week’s Dave Campbell’s Texas Football rankings, coming in at No. 10 in Class 4A Division I.

The Lions (5-1) will next embark on the District 2-4A Division I schedule as Brownwood looks to repeat as league champions. The first step on that journey takes place at 7 p.m. Friday at Big Spring (1-5).

The rest of the DCTF 4A Division I Top 10 ahead of Week 7 features No. 1 Tyler Chapel Hill (5-0), No. 2 Boerne (4-1), No. 3 Celina (5-0), No. 4 Anna (4-1), No. 5 China Spring (4-2), No. 6 Kilgore (5-1), No. 7 Iowa Colony (5-0), No. 8 Stephenville (4-2), and No. 9 El Campo (3-2).
