NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON FY 2024 PROPOSED BROWN COUNTY BUDGET

Notice is herby given that a Public Hearing on the proposed Brown County Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 9:00am. Commissioners Court will meet at the Brown County Courthouse, Commissioners Courtroom, 200 S Broadway, Brownwood, TX.

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $1,130,827 WHICH IS A 6.868% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S BUDGET. THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR IS $330,243.

A copy of the proposed budget is on file in the County Clerk’s office and is posted on the county website for public review. Any citizen will have the opportunity to give written and oral comments at the Public Hearing.
