The Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday:

This month’s spotlight teacher is Sheila Owen. Ms. Owen is a third grade teacher Coggin Elementary School. She is a state certified teacher (EC-6), and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Family Studies from The University of Texas Permian Basin.

Ms. Owen has been with Brownwood ISD since 2021. Ms. Owen joined the Coggin crew this school year and has been a joyous addition to the campus. She jumped in, learned campus procedures, and has rocked the first few weeks of school. Ms. Owen has modeled for her students how getting out of our comfort zones allows us to experience new and exciting things. Her kind spirit and determination are excellent additions to the Coggin team.

Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Sandra Weathers. Ms. Weathers is an Inclusion Special Education Teaching Aide (TA). She is a state-certified aide and studied Special Education at Tarrant County Jr. College. Ms. Weathers was hired as a TA at Northwest Elementary in 1998 and has been at Woodland Heights Elementary since 2003.

Ms. Weathers is a fantastic inclusion aide for Woodland Heights and has been an aide in the district for over 20 years. Her calm and caring approach with students and staff has earned her the love and respect from all who know her. She is hardworking and up for any task you set before her. She’s an invaluable part of the Woodland Heights team.

We are grateful for dedicated staff like Ms. Weathers who are genuinely compassionate and go above and beyond to make a positive impact on our students every day.
