Charles Allen Carter passed away on September 8, 2023, at the age of 66 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. Born on July 4, 1957, in Austin, Texas, Charles was a beloved husband and father, a devoted friend, and a respected member of his community. His gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

Charles was a dedicated employee, working in the propane LPG industry for an impressive 35 years. His commitment led him to join West Texas Gas in 2005, where he found fulfillment and camaraderie. His loyalty and professionalism stood as a testament to his character and his unwavering work ethic.

Charles was always ready to share his faith. He took his relationship with the Lord very seriously and was committed to always being a member of a church family. Charles was a devoted deacon at the Lytton Springs Baptist Church before relocating to Coleman County. He was currently a member of Valera Baptist Church.

Through his faith, Charles helped serve the community as evidence by serving as volunteer firefighter and EMS personnel in Bastrop County, Texas.

Outside of his professional life, Charles was a loving husband to his wife, Malinda Carter, and a proud father to their daughter, Krista Vargas, and husband Anastacio. He doted on his grandchildren, Beya and Bronson. Charles is also remembered by one brother, Richard Carter and his wife Patricia, his aunts Ramona Zerr and Kay Cunningham and nephews Mario Kopecky, Jordan Carter, and Kris Kopecky. His sisters-in-law, Anita Carter and Brenda Smith Simon. Charles found joy in spending time with his family, creating lasting memories, and cherishing the moments that brought them closer together. Charles was a devoted husband and a caring father, always putting the needs of his loved ones above his own.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Lou Carter; one brother, John Carter; and one sister, Terrie Carter.

The family will host a visitation at 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to attend and pay their respects as we celebrate a life well-lived. Interment will follow in the White Chapel Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

Charles Allen Carter will be remembered for his generosity, his wisdom, and his unwavering love and support for those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift others for generations to come.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be given in memory of Charles to Loaves and Fishes Food Ministry, 519 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas 76834 or to the Humane Society at www.humanesociety.org.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Carter family by signing the virtual guestbook on Charles’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Carter family.
