BURNET – The Brownwood JV Lions improved to 3-0 on the season with a 28-0 triumph at Burnet Thursday night.

Quarterback Dallas Shumaker completed 8 of 11 passes for 110 yards and rushed for a 5-yard touchdown. Shumaker connected with receivers Grant Gray, Keedan Brooks, Durham Brown, and Raven Prado.

Caven Webster rushed for close to 100 yards and added a 9-yard touchdown.

Kicker Eliuth Valenciano made all four of his extra point attempts, and barely missed a 47-yard field goal try late in the game.

The Lions defense again pitched a shutout, forcing three turnovers on the night with three interceptions.

Linebackers Robbie Robinson, Brinson Martin, and Elias Munoz led the way with multiple tackles each and three sacks. Defensive tackles Treyvon Mitchell and Wesley Isquirdeo, and Aiden Driskill made huge plays as well.

The JV Lions have outscored their first three opponents of the season, 103-6, and will be back at Gordon Wood Stadium next week, hosting the Glen Rose Tigers on Thursday evening.
