GATESVILLE – Playing for the first time in a week, the Brownwood Lady Lions were upended in three sets by the Gatesville Lady Hornets Tuesday evening.

“We are doing good things and learning, but still have some growing to do in practice,” said Lady Lions first-year head coach Cheyanne Lovelady.

Standouts for Brownwood included Aubrey Felux with 5 kills and 1 ace; Aniah Hines with 4 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks; Hannah Deen with 3 kills and 2 aces; Jaslin Jones with 3 kills and 2 aces; Miranda Northcutt with 3 kills; Emma Ringer with 2 aces and 10 assists; and Molly Oliver with 3 aces and 5 digs.

The Lady Lions (6-17) return to the court at 4:30 p.m. Friday as they welcome Midland Christian in the first of three straight matches at Warren Gym.
