Kody Shane Keaster, a beloved son and father who touched the lives of many, tragically passed away on September 3, 2023, in Coleman, TX. Born on July 21, 1993, in Hope, Arkansas, Kody was known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and kind spirit. Kody’s love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies. Hunting and fishing brought him a sense of peace and joy, allowing him to connect with nature. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life and could often be found playing with his beloved dog or hosting family gatherings where he showcased his exceptional grilling skills.

Kody also took immense pleasure in reading the Game of Thrones series and The Witcher. His favorite genre of music was Country, and you could always hear the music playing through his speakers. Kody’s pride and joy was his truck that he took pristine care of it.

Kody’s dedication to his work was admirable. He excelled in the construction industry, where he worked for Buster Hensley. His hard work and craftsmanship never went unnoticed, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked alongside. Kody’s commitment to his profession was a reflection of his strong work ethic and determination.

Though his life was tragically cut short, Kody will forever be remembered in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving mother, Tonya Waldrup, and his father, Billy Gillespie. Kody also leaves behind his two cherished sons, Shane Keaster and Zayline Keaster, and his devoted wife, Halie Phares. Kody will also be remembered by his siblings, Tyler Keaster and Breanna Bailey and husband Seth. He was doted on by his aunts, Julie Craig and Kristine Watson and husband John. Kody will also be remembered by a host of cousins including Jessica Keaster and LaTasha Keaster.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service to honor and celebrate Kody’s life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Felz officiating, where we will gather to share memories, offer comfort, and find strength as we bid farewell to our beloved Kody. During this difficult time, may we find solace in the cherished moments we shared with Kody and the impact he had on our lives. Let us come together in love and support, embracing the memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We extend our deepest condolences to Kody’s family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his presence. May he find eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Keaster family by signing the virtual guestbook on Kody’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Keaster family. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
