Luther “Rocky” Burl Turner III, 68, of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Friends, family and loved ones can gather for a Celebration of Life ceremony, Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Rocky was born December 6, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas to Luther Burl Jr. and Nellie Ruth (McCarty) Turner. He attended Sweetwater High School and went to TSTC where he received an associate degree in Diesel Mechanics. Rocky worked as a tool pusher in the oilfield most of his life. Rocky married Elizabeth Mosley on April 19, 2014 in Brownwood, Texas and they started a life together to share its journey. He loved riding motorcycles, was active with the Christian Motorcycle Association, fishing and wood working. He had a big heart and would give the shirt off of his back to help those less fortunate. He was a man who dearly loved his friends and they loved him like a brother as well. His son, Rocky Jr., was his greatest achievement and his granddaughter held his heart.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Beth Turner of Brownwood; son, Rocky Turner Jr. and wife Barbara of Sweetwater; step daughters, Kristal Agal and Rhonda Suitor and husband Bobby of Stamford; granddaughter, Brittany Osborn and husband Chris of Big Spring; sister, Tena Madry Shepherd and husband Mike of Midland, Patsy Madry Compton of Fort Smith, AR, and Beverly Madry Harris and husband Bobby of Hot Springs, AR; best friend, Hollis Hardy Jr.; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family that meant the world to him.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Ruth and Luther Burle Turner Jr.; brothers, Glen Preas and Larry Turner; father, Brady “Nubbin” Smith Madry.
