Lady Lions notch victories in two of last three matches at Glen Rose tournament

GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Lady Lions captured victories in two of their final three matches at the Glen Rose volleyball tournament Saturday, and have already equaled their 2022 win total.

Saturday’s action began with a two-set loss to Saginaw, but the Lady Lions regrouped to sweep Dallas Carter in two sets then outlasted Bridgeport for a three-set triumph.

Over the course of Saturday’s three matches, Hannah Deen, Aniah Hines and Miranda Northcutt led the charge with 14 kills apiece for Brownwood followed by 13 from Aubrie Felux, four from Emma Ringer, two each from Trinity Roberts and Jaslin Jones, and one apiece by Chloe Walls and Maddi Scott.

Ringer also contributed 31 assists trailed by 17 from Icess Hall, two from Molly Oliver and one by Arieseli Hernandez.

Defensively, Deen led the Lady Lions with 21 digs along with 18 from Ringer, 17 from Felux, 16 from Oliver, 12 from Walls, eight from Jones, seven from Hines, five from Hall, three from Jeniffer Romero and two apiece from Scott and Northcutt.

Brownwood (4-12) will next host Lampasas at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
