An electrical fire at Brownwood’s Whataburger location caused the facility to be closed.  The alarm came in at 9:23 pm Tuesday and when firefighters arrived they found smoke showing from the electrical boxes on the exterior of the building by the back door to Whataburger.

Employees stated they heard a loud noise and then the lights started to flicker.

Oncor was called to shut off power to the building.

All power was turned off and made safe.

No damage occurred to the interior of Whataburger but they will be without power until such time as the issue is fixed and power is restored by Oncor.

Brownwood Fire estimates the damage to be $2,500.
