The City of Bangs posted the following on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon:

Members of the Bangs Municipal Development District, Economic Development District, and Bangs City Council attended and participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new splash pad. The splash pad will be at the Bangs Event Center, located at 103 Ray Barnes Dr. Over the past two years, the MDD board has spearheaded the project to secure funding and to select an architect and construction company for the new splash pad. “We are proud and excited to be able to offer this source of recreation to our community and to our neighbors in the surrounding area,” stated Erica Berry, City Administrator for the City of Bangs. With construction beginning next week, it is projected that the splash pad will be open for use later this month.

Individuals or businesses may support the splash pad project by making financial donations. Contributions of $1,000.00 or more will be recognized and memorialized with the installation of a plaque, intended to be constructed in a conspicuous location near the splash pad.
