The Brownwood Art Center is having a sale you won’t want to miss, and it opens with the “First Look and Buy Reception,’ Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 2-6 p.m.  Start or expand your art collection with some great finds.  The reception will have light refreshments, beverages, meeting some of the local artists, and the opportunity to purchase items prior to opening for the public.  Admission is $10 for  B.A.A. members, and $15 for non-members.

The Art From Your Attic sale is a fundraiser to help cover gallery expenses and art programs at the Art Center at 215 Fisk in downtown Brownwood.  “We’ve had a great response from our members and the public,” says Cary Perrin, Treasurer for the Brownwood Art Association. “We put out a request for donations, and we received a great variety of framed art that’s ready to hang, as well as art supplies like sketch books, easels, and pastel and paint sets.  We also have lots of frames in different sizes and styles.”

The First Look and Buy Reception on Wednesday will be followed by the regular First Thursday reception on Thursday, Aug. 3, from 5-7 p.m., which is free and open to the public, as always.  The sale will continue in the gallery through the month of August.  Regular gallery hours are 2-6 pm, weekdays.

For more information about the Brownwood Art Association, visit their website, brownwoodart.net, find the B.A.A. on Facebook, or call 325-641-2916.
