Alice Taylor

Alice Elnita Davis Taylor, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, went to be with our Lord on July 24, 2023, at age 89 in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas, Texas on Aug 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Early, Texas.

She was born Sept 24, 1933, in Borger to Richard C. and Ina L. Dowdy Davis. She attended school in Pampa, where she met and married James E. Lee Taylor on June 10, 1951. They were blessed with three wonderful children.

After living in New Mexico and Utah, she moved to Lubbock in 1962. She was employed by Plains National Bank, Edwin E. Merriman Co., Broadview Steel and Jim Taylor Motor Co. and served for 20 years as comptroller at Trinity Church. Nita and Jim were founding members of Trinity Church in Lubbock. She was appointed Admiral in the Texas Navy by Governor Preston Smith. Her greatest joy was being with her family as well as traveling with her husband.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her son, James Keith Taylor, and a brother, Jimmy D. Davis.

Her survivors include her husband of 72 years, 2 daughters, Brenda Boggs of  Springdale, Arizona, Becca (Richard) Bryan of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Vivian Taylor of Early; grandchildren, Andrew (Shelbi) Taylor, Scott Taylor, Justin (Janna) Taylor, Taylor Bryan, Chelsea Boggs, Schyler Boggs, and Bailey Boggs; great grandchildren, Oliver, Milo, Logan, Leia and Charlie Taylor, Addisyn, Brielle, Kallen, River and Bodhi Boggs; brother, Ronnie (Ann) Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Keith Taylor Memorial Scholarship
