Funeral services for Nelda Jane Low, age 87, of Brownwood will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Nelda passed away July 21, 2023.  Nelda was a believer in Jesus Christ, beloved mother, devoted sister, caring friend, and much-adored Granny.  Nelda was born March 16, 1936 in Richland Springs, Texas to Walter and Myrtle Bodine.  Her family moved to Bangs in 1937.  She graduated from Bangs High School in 1954.  She married Joe Dale Low of Brownwood, Texas on March 17, 1955.  Over the years she worked at the hospital, the telephone company, and a sewing manufacturing company.  After retiring, she enjoyed spending time traveling to Colorado and camping in their RV with Joe and extended family as well as camping trips with the rest of their family and grandchildren in Texas.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending grandkids activities as much as possible, cooking, playing dominoes, cards, and caring for her plants.  Nelda was an active member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

Nelda is survived by her sons, Mark Edwin Low and wife Irma of Abilene, Michael Dale Low and wife Terrie of Bluff Dale, and Barry Joe Low and wife Kelly of Cypress; five grandchildren, Jamie Parks and husband Dominic, Kevin Low, Matthew Low, Emily Low, and Scott Low; great grandchild Izabella Parks; sister Betty Allen of Bangs and brother Gayle Bodine and wife Cecelia of Perrin, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Low, brothers Adrian Bodine, Ray Bodine and sister Glenda Brow.

The family would like to thank all the friends and family who recently visited her, assisted her in various ways, provided meals, and played cards or dominoes.  You are very much appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Coggin Avenue Baptist Church (general building fund).  Online memorials can be left at www.heritagefuneraltx.com
