Dianne Bowden

Dianne Bowden, 80 of May, TX passed away at 11:20 AM July 21, 2023 from a sudden illness. She was taken to the ER at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood, treated and admitted to ICU on July 20, 2023. She was at peace and comfortable the morning of her passing.

Vickie Dianne Bowden was born March 13, 1943 to William Columbus Steed and Alma Barrington Steed. Her childhood was spent around Bradley, Arkansas. She married William Robert (Billy) Bowden of Plain Dealing, Louisiana when she was 16 years old. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together until Billy’s passing from this life on November 4, 2019.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, William Columbus Steed and Alma Barrington Steed; her brother E. R. (Buddy) Steed; her sisters, Geraldine Pero and Allene Stiles.

She is survived by her children, Robert Samuel (Sam) Bowden and wife Carren of Brownwood, TX, William Scott Bowden and wife Kim of Splendora, TX, Twillia Dawn Hoskinson and husband Jeff of May, TX, Stephanie Leigh Faulkner and husband Jason of Marble Falls, TX, Angela Michelle Howle and husband Lance of Austin, TX, Wesley Daniel Bowden and wife Lourdes of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Misty Lindsey of Eastland, TX; 17 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren.

Dianne was a homemaker, wife, mother to 3 birth children and 4 adopted children whom she loved very much. Billy and Dianne were foster parents for a number of years in Brown County, TX. Church life was central in their lives, they loved their church and church family. Dianne loved to sew, crochet, paint and do crafts. But her very favorite thing to do was garden. She loved raising herbs, vegetables, fruits and flowering plants. Dianne’s favorite plants were roses.

Dianne had a warm, outgoing personality, enjoyed her life and her life’s accomplishments very much. Dianne was full of stories of her past and family experiences. She was proud of her full life and her family. Dianne had a positive impact on many lives and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Dianne’s deepest core beliefs were of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She is with her husband and our Lord and we will be reunited with them one day.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 10 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
