Glen Hollingsworth

Glen Hollingsworth, age 74, died Thursday, June 27, 2023, at Bangs Nursing Home. The family will host a visitation on Friday, June 30, 2023,  from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel,  with Seth Moore, pastor of Hords Creek Cowboy Church, officiating. There will also be a Masonic ceremony.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

Gary Glen Hollingsworth was born March 1, 1949, in Stamford, Texas, to Montez Hollingsworth and Delma Josephine (Jo) Smith Hollingsworth. Glen was part of a large family, having two brothers and two sisters.  He grew up in Coleman where he attended school, graduating in the Class of 1969.  In June 1969, he married Doris Medcalf at North Coleman Baptist Church.

Glen worked in the oil field for Halliburton for many years, including 20 years working overseas in West Africa.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #496 in Coleman where he had served in the past as Worshipful Master.

Glen was a hard worker and good provider for his family.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Coleman; four children, Geoffrey Hollingsworth and wife Shanna of Burnet, Jeremy Hollingsworth and wife Jennifer of Harker Heights,  Phillip Hollingsworth of Universal City and Robin Aristondo and husband Aaron of Coleman; two sisters, Phyllis Smith of Washington and Becky Wiginton of Coleman; 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Ronald Hollingsworth.
