Hardie Andrew Barnes, 69, of Brownwood passed away in his sleep on June 5, 2023 at Brownwood Nursing and Rehab. The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at the families home located at 1001 Cordell St. Brownwood, TX 76801 at 10 am on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Hardie Andrew Barnes was born December 7, 1953 on Hwy. 31 in Malakoff, TX to Doris Lorraine Ruth Barnes and OD Brookins. Mr. Barnes played football under Gordon Wood and valued his time on the team in the early 1970’s and remained an avid sports fan for the remainder of his life. He worked construction, maintenance, and enjoyed DJing at Cecil Holman Park for the community until his health declined. Hardie fought a 13-year battle with renal failure.

Hardie was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Chantelle Barnes, and cousin Jimmie Lee Williams.

Left to cherish his memories are children Brian Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Quincy Herndon (Casey), Mak Norman, and Kandice Harris. Grandchildren Jordan Barnes, Michael Forster, Briannon Barnes, Makye Herndon, Braelan Herndon, Paetyn Herndon, Bishop Norman, Karista Norman, Makari Norman, Karma Norman, Langston Andrew Barnes and a host of extended family and friends.
