Lee Perry

Lee Perry, age 72, of Santa Anna, Texas passed to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 8:22 pm at the Hendricks Medical Center Brownwood.

Services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church with Bro. David McLean officiating.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 6:00 till 7:30 pm at Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.  A private family interment will be at the Santa Ann Cemetery.  Services are under the direction and care of Henderson Funeral Home Staff.

He was born Virgil Lee Perry, Jr. on July 29, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama to Virgil Lee Perry, Sr. and Willene Lankford Perry.  Lee was raised with his 13 siblings in Mobile, Alabama where he attended school.  He married Ida Jane Stamper in Coleman, Texas in 1982 and they shared many years of a loving marriage until she passed in 2021.  Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday Morning Breakfast Chef.  He was a resident of Santa Anna since 1980 where he was known for his infectious smile and laughter.

A hard and steady worker he worked in construction and for many years was a truck driver.  Following retirement he worked in Landscaping and was employed with Santa Anna ISD in maintenance.

Survivors include 3 Sons – Donnie Perry of Santa Anna, TX, Billy & wife Olivia Perry of Santa Anna, TX, Tim & wife Darla Perry of Santa Anna, TX; 5 Sisters – Carol Loper, Becky Jones, Sue McIntosh, Charlene McKissick & Elaine Perry all of Mobile, Alabama; 5 Brothers – Ralph Perry, Bill Perry, Terry Perry, David Everitt & Jodie Everitt all of Mobile, Alabama; 5 Grandchildren – Dakota, Colton, Jayton & wife Ella, Sawyer & Finn; 2 Great Grandchildren – Winter & Gabriella; A number of Nieces & Nephews; Sister-in-law – Susie Stamper of Coleman, TX;  and Brother-in-law – Vernon Stamper of Coleman, TX.

Lee was preceded in death by his son J J in 2021 and by 3 Brothers.
