Thousands expected for Saturday’s downtown Cinco de Mayo celebration

The Arts Council of Brownwood will present its annual Cinco De Mayo celebration from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 6 in downtown Brownwood.

According to the City of Brownwood, this year’s celebration offers five performance stages and will stretch nine city blocks along Center Ave and include over 100 shopping and food vendors. There will be a Children’s World, motorcycle/car show, and Wine Garden venue as well as many contests.

Thousands are expected to attend and the contests include the Jalapeno Eating Contest, Salsa Contest, and El Grito Contest.

There will be a variety of musical acts performing throughout downtown. The schedule is as follows:
