GLEN ROSE – The District 6-4A runner-up Brownwood Lions wrapped up the baseball regular season Friday night with a 2-0 loss to 6-4A’s third seed Glen Rose.

The Lions (19-9-1, 8-4) took two of three district games from Glen Rose (17-10-1, 8-4) to secure the league’s second playoff seed.

Brownwood will face District 5-4A third seed San Angelo Lake View (9-17-1, 5-5) in the bi-district round of the playoffs next weekend. Details on the first round matchup. The Lions defeated Lake View, 7-3, in the regular season opener at Morris Southall Field on Feb. 20.

The Lions mustered just one single against Glen Rose Friday, that coming from David Turner. Justin Valdez, Taylor Bessent, Case Markham and Antonio Ybarra drew walks for Brownwood, which left all five runners stranded on the base paths.

The Tigers picked up solo runs in the second and fourth innings off Brownwood pitcher Noah Gonzalez, who pitched five innings and struck out three while walking four. Luke Gray tossed an inning of relief and gave up one hit with one walk.
