The District 6-4A softball regular season concluded Friday night with Glen Rose knocking off Stephenville, 11-0, which results in Brownwood and Glen Rose finishing tied for second in the final league standings.

According to Coach Cherita Munguia, the Lady Lions (10-12-1, 4-4) and Glen Rose (14-8, 4-4) will square off at 7 p.m. Monday in Stephenville in a game that will determine the second and third playoff seeds from 6-4A.

The second seed will face District 5-4A third-place squad Snyder (18-11), while the third seed would meet 5-4A runner-up Levelland (25-7) in the bi-district round of the playoffs next weekend.

Stephenville (15-13, 3-5) will head into the postseason as the fourth seed and meet 5-4A champion Sweetwater, while 6-4A champion Graham (23-4-2, 8-0) will battle 5-4A fourth seed Big Spring.

On the baseball front, the Lions and Glen Rose will head into their final two district games next week also tied for second place in the 6-4A standings.

Stephenville is in the driver’s seat for the 6-4A title after an 8-5 win over Glen Rose Friday as the Yellow Jackets are now 8-2 in district and 15-12-1 on the season, own tiebreakers over both Brownwood and Glen Rose, and face last-place Mineral Wells (6-17, 0-10) next week.

The Lions (18-8-1, 7-3) host Glen Rose (15-9, 7-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, then visit the Tigers Friday in the regular season finale. Brownwood won the first game at Glen Rose 10-5 on March 4 and would hold the tiebreaker edge if the two teams split next week’s contests.
