Bonnie Covey

Funeral services for Bonnie Covey, age 89, of Early, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 20, 2023, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oakview Cemetery in Mullin. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00.

Bonnie Pearl Hughitt was born in Mills County to Viola (Ivy) and John Franklin Hughitt. She attended and graduated from Mullin schools. She married Marvin Edward “Ed” Covey on July 26, 1952, in Meridian. Bonnie attended Cover to Cover Ministries in Gatesville. She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, and travel. She was known for keeping her house immaculate and providing for her family.

Bonnie is survived by her three sons, Weldon Humphries and wife Mozelle, Charles Covey, James Covey and wife Deana; two daughters, Patricia Storey and husband Tommy and Pam Stinnett and husband Ricky; 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Dortha Sartain, and 3 grandchildren.

Mrs. Covey passed from this life on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The family requests that memorials be made in Bonnie’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project.
