The Brown County United Way has appointed a new Executive Director to lead the organization in its mission to improve the lives of community members. The newly appointed director, Sarah Hoffman, brings non-profit experience and a deep commitment to positively impacting the community.
Sarah moved to Brown County with her husband, William, and their four boys in June 2021 after William was hired as principal of Brown County Christian School. Since then, Sarah has worked at the school overseeing local office administration, fundraising, registrations, and marketing and is currently working with a team to launch a new local non-profit organization, Central Texas Education Center.
Sarah spent 13 years working in the non-profit sector, with experience in church and school non-profit administration. Though experienced in this sector, this is her first time leading an organization. She has a proven track record of building partnerships and collaborations that unite diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals. In her recent role at Brown County Christian School, Sarah has successfully led fundraising campaigns, garnered support, recruited volunteers, and launched school-wide rebranding and marketing campaigns.
As the new Executive Director of the Brown County United Way, Sarah is excited to continue building on the organization’s legacy of improving lives through education, income stability, and health. “I am honored to join the Brown County United Way and work with such a dedicated team of board members, donors, businesses, and partners,” said Sarah. “I look forward to meeting with community members, hearing their stories, and working together to create positive change.”
With 15 current partner non-profit agencies, the Brown County United Way has a long history of providing critical support to those in need, thanks to donors’ generosity and volunteers’ hard work. Sarah is excited to be able to continue the work that previous directors have started and looks forward to the future with optimism. “Brown County is a very generous community with a heart to help others. I have seen many of our partners’ impact in the community and know how important it is to stand beside them and advocate for their causes and missions,” said Sarah.
