All three Brown County cities had nice increases in the sales tax allocations received in April from the Texas Comptroller’s office.  Brownwood led the way with an increase of 27%.  The April sales tax allocations reflect retail sales in February 2023. Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $546,737 in April, an increase of 27.16% over April 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2022 through April 2023) Brownwood has received $4,122,407, an increase of 9.57% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $172,590 in April, an increase of 21.70% over April 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $1,334,451 up 8.42% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

EARLY

The City of Early received $187,584 in April, an increase of 8.07% over April 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,578,015, an increase of 20.96% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Early Municipal Development District received $61,999 in April, an increase of 8.55% over April 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $516,906, up 20.88% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $17,725 in April, an increase of 8.84% over April 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $141,197, an increase of 8.30% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,664 in April, an increase of 13.07%.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $20,956, up 8.05% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
