PEASTER – The Early Longhorns bounced back from only their second District 8-3A baseball defeat and remained in sole possession of second place in the league standings with a 10-4 road victory over Peaster Tuesday night.

Trailing 2-0 heading into the third inning, Early (12-6, 7-2) scored its first run off Peaster (12-10, 5-4) pitching, then struck for eight runs in the top of the fourth to seize control. The Longhorns added their final runs in the seventh inning, and Peaster scored twice in the bottom half of the frame.

Early chalked up 10 hits led by Caydon Laird, Riley Hill and Ki Houston with two each, along with one apiece from Jeremy Brown, Caleb McCullough, Cooper Jacobs and Gavin Sanders. McCullough drove in three with a home run, Brown, Laird and Houston contributed two RBIs apiece, and Hill chipped in one RBI.

On the mound, Ethan Pallette collected the victory as he allowed four runs on six hits with nine strikeouts over 6.1 innings. J.D. Nowell recorded the final two outs, yielding one hit with one strikeout.
