No. 20 Lady Dragons notch 20th victory, 15-0 over Winters

WINTERS – The Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 2A No. 20 Bangs Lady Dragons collected their 20th victory of the season and 11th straight league win with a 15-0 road decision over Winters Tuesday.

District 6-2A leader Bangs (20-4, 11-0) scored five runs in the second inning, six in the third, one in the fourth and three additional runs in the fifth inning.

The Lady Dragons’ 15-hit attack was led Cheyenne Rush, Abby Wolf, Julianna Ethridge, Emily Baker and Jaylee Valdez with two apiece, while Neeley Bradley, Jadyn Miller, Maria Ruiz, Mattisyn Taylor and Bailey Mendieta contributed one hit each.

Rush and Valdez recorded three RBIs apiece while Bradley, Wolf, Ethridge, Miller, Ruiz and Taylor tallied one RBI each.

In the circle, Wolf tossed a five-inning, three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts.

The Lady Dragons visit second-place Coleman at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
