Eight sentences handed down in 35th District Court

The office of District Attorney Micheal Murray issued the following press release Monday regarding felony cases recently heard in 35th District Court by Judge Mike Smith.

  • Jerry Wayne Nickerson pled guilty to the felony offenses of Driving While Intoxicated and Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear and was sentenced to 25 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Joy Louise Miller, on probation for the felony offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone, and was sentenced to 4 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Jacob Liendo, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone, and was sentenced to 3 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Carl Tyler Norton, on probation for the felony offense of Evading Arrest, was adjudicated and sentenced to 3 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Laramie Seat, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, was adjudicated and sentenced to 15 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Hector Gatica, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, was revoked and sentenced to 12 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Michelle Fuentes, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, was revoked and sentenced to 12 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Francisco Urista aka Francisco Javier Urista III pled guilty to state jail felony offense of Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information and was sentenced to 10 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
