The Brownwood Community Library Association is excited to announce the first annual Kentucky Derby fundraising raffle! Participants may choose which horse (or horses) they think will win the Kentucky Derby on May 6. Tickets are $5 apiece or 5 for $20 and may be purchased at the Brownwood Library located at 600 Carnegie Street through May 5.  The winning ticket will be drawn at the event from baskets with the horses’ names. One winning ticket will be drawn per horse for win, place, or show, with a special prize for the last place horse.

Prizes include a two-night stay at Vineyard Trail Cottages in Fredericksburg for the winning horse, a round of golf and a stay at the Hideout Resort for second place, and a stay at the Stardust Retreat in Coleman for third.

Winners need not be present to win. Although the Library’s Kentucky Derby fundraising party event is sold out, plans are underway for a larger venue for next year!

Please contact the Library if you would like to be put on the wait list for a table or sponsorship for 2024, starting at $1,000 per table.

All raffle funds raised will be invested back into the community, towards programs and infrastructure supporting the Library’s children’s reading programs, computers for school work & job seekers, ebooks, craft programs, and more!
