Ima “Jean” Hallford McKamey, age 88, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in Brownwood.

Graveside services for Jean will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at Rocky Creek Cemetery, with David McKamey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jean was born February 21, 1935, in Cross Cut to Homer and Ima (Williams) Hallford. She attended Bangs High School where she played sports and graduated in 1953. Softball was her first love, followed by fishing. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jean loved family gatherings, would always cook more than everyone could eat, and invited anyone who would like to come. Her lifelong profession was as a beautician in Bangs where she made many lifelong friends.

Surviving Jean are her son, Keith McKamey and wife Kay, formerly of Midland, and their children Sara Spivey, Krista Wood, Kayla McKamey, and Kole McKamey; son, David McKamey and wife Cathey of Bangs, and sons Brett McKamey and Steffen McKamey; daughter, Gale McKamey Southall and husband Matt of Hallettsville, Texas, and children Karrah Oliver and Matthew Southall; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Hallford, Kent Hallford, Travis Hallford; and sister, Nedra Hallford King.

Jean was preceded in death by a daughter, Terrie McKamey Wood, whose sons Tim Wood, Josh Wood, and Beau Wood survive her.

Condolences for the family may be left online at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
