EARLY – The Early Longhorns improved to 3-1 in District 8-3A action and 8-5 on the season, handing the Breckenridge Buckaroos their first league loss, 7-3, Friday night.

Trailing 3-0 after two innings, Early shaved the deficit to 3-1 in the third, 3-2 after five, and put five runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth to snatch the victory over Breckenridge (5-11-1, 3-1).

Early’s seven-hit attack featured three and two RBIs from Cooper Jacobs, two and a pair of RBIs from Caydon Laird, and one hit apiece from Jeremy Brown and John-Stewart Gordon.

On the mound, Laird went the distance and notched the victory, allowing three runs – one earned – one four hits with five strikeouts.

The Longhorns will visit Comanche Tuesday.
