Brownwood tennis wins 26 of 31 matches at Glen Rose Quad Tournament

GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood High tennis team took part in the Glen Rose Quad Tournament Thursday, winning 26 of 31 overall matches. The following are the results from those matches:

BOYS A SINGLES

Peter Le – defeated Tomas Lopez of Keene (6-0, 6-1); defeated Austin Steward of Godley (6-0, 6-0); defeated Vit Guldan of Glen Rose (6-0, 6-1)

BOYS B SINGLES

Wesley Goodrich – lost to Mathis of Godley (6-4, 7-5); defeated Cason Staples of Glen Rose (6-1, 6-1); defeated Jace Young of Glen Rose (7-5, 6-0)

Thomas Stewardson – defeated Jace Young of Glen Rose (6-4, 6-3); defeated Cason Staples of Glen Rose (7-5, 6-2)

GIRLS A SINGLES

Lyric Shaw – lost to Charlette Craven of Keene (6-2, 6-4); defeated Alyssa Ortega of Godley (6-2, 6-2); lost to Ali Moss of Glen Rose (6-1, 6-1)

GIRLS B SINGLES

Anna Daniel – defeated Trisha Smith of Keene (6-1, 6-1); defeated Victoria Paliz Carrillo of Godley (6-2, 6-0); defeated Jewell Morris of Glen Rose (6-2, 6-7 [1-7], 10-6)

BOYS A DOUBLES

Jacob Singleton and River Prado – defeated Herreta and Zuniga of Keene (6-1, 6-1); defeated Mullins and Harry of Godley (6-0, 6-0); defeated Andrews and Iglesias-Benet of Glen Rose (4-6, 6-3, 6-4)

BOYS B DOUBLES

Taevion Nickerson and Tyler Mitchell – defeated Mathis and Fultz of Godley (6-0, 6-0); defeated Balderas and Staples of Glen Rose (6-3, 6-1)

GIRLS A DOUBLES

Raylei Hickey and Emma Delgado – defeated Castro and Rivas of Keene (6-3, 6-2); defeated Jackson and White of Godley (6-0, 6-1); defeated Schabs and Young of Glen Rose (7-6 [9-7], 6-3)

GIRLS B DOUBLES

Madeleine Goff and Ashlyn Bundick – defeated Ingram and McFarlin of Keene (6-1, 6-1); defeated Boyd and Carrillo of Godley (6-1, 6-0); defeated Rush and Saavedra of Glen Rose (6-3, 6-0)

MIXED DOUBLES A

Eric Smith and Ihana Figueroa – lost to Hensley and Henlsey of Keene (6-0, 6-0); defeated Martin and Downe of Godley (6-0, 6-0); defeated Heppler and Rynders of Glen Rose (6-4, 4-6, 10-5)

MIXED DOUBLES B

Eric Waldrop and Claire Meinecke – defeated Santos and Pepper of Keene (forfeit); defeated Johnson and Gerardo of Godley (6-0, 6-0); lost to Bordeaux and Saavedra of Glen Rose (6-3, 4-6, 10-2)

The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in Glen Rose Thursday and Friday for the District 6-4A tennis tournament.
