The Early Lady Horns powerlifting team finished third at the regional meet in Dublin Saturday and four members of the team are headed to the state tournament in Frisco March 16.

Alyne Celedon won the regional championship in the 181-pound weight class and broke the region bench press record with a mark of 235 pounds lifted. Celedon was also named Best Heavyweight Lifter, Outstanding Bench Presser, and Best Squatter.

Danielle Alcorta also brought home the gold and Outstanding Lifter in the light weight class, while Matty Boswell is also a regional champion in the 114 class. Also qualifying for state in the 114s is Julieanne Socong.

Placing third in the 165s was Brooke Houston, while Jenna Hataway placed fifth in the 123s and Rayanna Barzart placing sixth in the 220s.
