Dolores Spivey, 80, of Comanche TX, passed from this life Saturday February 25, 2023. The family chose Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche to help celebrate her life in the Heartland Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday March 4, 2023 with Bro. Gerald Burns officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery in Hasse TX. Condolences to the family and remembrances of Dolores can be left online at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net

Dolores Jean Spivey was born April 7, 1942 in Hereford, TX, to W.V. and Arvilla Elmore. Dolores grew up on a working farm outside Friona, TX while attending school there. She graduated from Friona High School in May 1960. She married Dale Spivey on January 30, 1960 in Friona. After marrying Dale, they lived in various towns in the panhandle, and landed in Comanche in February 1969. Dolores was elated to get away from all the dust in the panhandle.

Dolores was first and foremost a wife and mother at an early age. She had various jobs along the way, most of them helping Dale with managing and keeping things straight with his many businesses, but was mostly a homemaker. Family and friends were very important to Dolores. She excelled at propping up her family and friends and supporting them through the many celebrations and difficulties in their lives. Dolores was very sweet, kind and witty. She was always coming up with jokes to keep everyone laughing, even during her long illness. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dale Spivey; daughters; Deena Spivey of Granbury and Regina Wrzesinski of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Lauren Wrzesinski of Fort Worth and Colton Wrzesinski of Euless; brother, Larry Elmore of Levelland; many dear nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.V. and Arvilla Elmore and brother, Tim Elmore.
