Fishing Reports 2/22/23

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of February 22:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

SLOW. Water stained; 49-55 degrees; 8.42 feet below pool. Black bass to six pounds are good on Alabama rigs and jigs in 6-12 feet of water. Crappie fair toward the mouth of the creeks in 5-10 feet starting to stage for the spawn. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 8.38 feet below pool. Channel catfish are fair on live minnows. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Slightly stained; 53-58 degrees; 5.46 feet below pool. Big bass up to 10 pounds targeting fish with livescope suspending in deeper water biting umbrella rigs and swim jigs. Few reports of other species.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 23.55 feet below pool. Warmer weather should improve the bite, but until then fishing patterns will be similar. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie fair with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are good. Catfish are fair on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.

LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 9.16 feet below pool. Reports of blue catfish biting slow near ledges in 14-18 feet of water using live and cut bait. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
