OLNEY – The District 8-3A third seed Early Longhorns came up short in their bid to upset District 7-3A runner-up Vernon Tuesday night, falling 58-48 in Region I-3A boys basketball bi-district playoff action.

The Longhorns (17-13) led Vernon (22-9) by a 14-count after one quarter, trailed 35-18 at halftime and faced a 47-26 deficit heading into the fourth period.

Early received 16 points from Kaleb Hoffman, nine from Colton Allen, eight from John Hill, five from Jeremy Brown, four each from Jaxyn Price and John-Stewart Gordon, and two points from Rohyn Price
