The Texas Department of Public Safety issued the following information regarding a one-vehicle accident that took place at on State Highway 36, two miles east of Cross Plains, at 6:54 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19.

A 2017 Dodge, Ram 1500 pickup truck, driven by 60-year-old Byron Keith Lawrence of Cross Plains, was traveling east on State Highway 36.  A pedestrian, 38-year-old Danielle Elaine Eppard of Cross Plains, was walking east in the roadway of State Highway 36. Due to the roadway being dark and not lighted, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who died due to injuries.
